Who Should Attend?

The pre-conference courses and main conference lectures were selected to inspire interest from any individual involved in Emergency Medicine and Prehospital Care such as:

  • Emergency Medicine Physicians and Residents
  • General Physicians
  • Emergency Department Managers
  • Public Health Officials
  • Nurses
  • Emergency Medical Technicians / Paramedics
  • Prehospital Care Personnel and Volunteers
  • Search and Rescue Technicians
  • Firefighters
  • Educators and Students in the Healthcare Professions
  • Other healthcare providers engaged in the practice of Emergency Medicine


Continuing Education Units

CME credits during this course are provided for members of the Philippine Medical Association (PMA), Philippine College of Emergency Medicine and Acute Care (PCEMAC), Philippine Association of Family Physicians (PAFP), and Philippine College of Occupational Medicine (PCOM).

Participants of the AHA Basic Life Support Course may receive continuing education hours if they are nurse practitioners, registered nurses, respiratory therapists, and certified nursing assistants under the Florida Board of Nursing, Florida Department of Health, through our partnership with Global CE Provider of America.  The Board of Nursing, Florida Department of Health is accredited as an approver of continuing education in Nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).


Attire

Comfortable clothing and rubber shoes are recommended for the pre-conference courses since they include actual hands-on practice on mannequins.

The attire for the main conference is business casual.  We shall endeavor to provide a comfortable learning environment at all times.  However, the temperature in the conference venue may be cool.  We therefore suggest that you bring a light jacket or sweater for your comfort.


Conference ID Cards

All registered participants will be given a conference ID card that should be used during the main conference and pre-conference courses .  For security purposes, conference ID cards are required at all times. Individuals without a visible conference ID card will not be permitted into the pre-conference course venue, conference hall, and exhibit hall.


How to Pre-register

In order for you to be "pre-registered" and assured of a slot in the pre-conference courses and/or conference proper, we must receive your registration information and payment ON or BEFORE July 2, 2010 (Friday) 5PM.

1.   Provide the following registration details: your full name, profession, institution or organization, landline, fax number, mobile number, email, and what you would like to register in (main conference, AHA BLS Course, AHA ECG course, AHA Airway Management Course) by:

  • Calling up the SLMC Emergency Department (+63-2-7252328 or +63-2-7230101 local ER) and talking to any Emergency Medicine Resident OR
  • Sending us a text message (SMS) at +63-917-8556735 OR
  • Emailing us at slmc.em2010@yahoo.com
2.   Pay the course fee/s by:
  • Personally handing your payment to any Emergency Medicine Resident at the SLMC Emergency Department OR
  • Depositing your payment to our account through any Security Bank Branch and sending us a copy of the deposit slip via fax (+63-2-7241646) or email (slmc.em2010@yahoo.com) along with your registration details.
Check payments must be made out to "SLMC Emergency Department."

For the pre-conference courses, payments must be received and confirmed ON or BEFORE July 2, 2010 (Friday) 5PM to reserve your slot. 
  • Participants of the AHA BLS Course must claim their AHA BLS textbooks between July 9 to 15, 2010 at the SLMC Emergency Department, St. Luke's Medical Center, 279 E. Rodriguez Sr. Blvd, Quezon City 1102 PHILIPPINES
  • Participants of the AHA ECG Course and the AHA Airway Management Course will receive their handouts on the day of their course
For the main conference, your payment must be received and confirmed ON or BEFORE July 2, 2010 (Friday) 5PM to take advantage of any published pre-registration discounts and to reserve your pre-registered slot.  Payments after this date will be based on the on-site registration rates.  Your pre-registered slot is NON-TRANSFERABLE.


On-site Registration

We encourage you to pre-register for the pre-conference courses and conference proper to ensure your slot reservation.  Should you decide to register on-site, it will be subject to slot availability. 

For the main conference, on-site registrants will have to pay the FULL registration fee.  SLMC EMS reserves the right not to accept on-site registrants if the available slots are already full.

For the pre-conference courses, please take note of the following:
  • We cannot accept on-site registration for the AHA BLS Course.  It is a requirement of the American Heart Association that participants should get and review the AHA BLS textbook PRIOR to the course.
  • On-site registration may be accepted for the AHA ECG Course and AHA Airway Management Course only if slots are still available.

Discount Policy

A ten percent (10%) discount shall be applied on the pre-registration and on-site Main Conference course fees to groups of ten (10) or more provided that the following conditions are met:
  • The group of ten (10) or more participants must belong to a single institution or organization as attested by a certification from an authority of the said insitution or organization on their official letterhead.
  • All members of the group must register at the SAME TIME.
  • The total course fees must be paid and received by us as a SINGLE PAYMENT, either in cash or as a single check payment.


Cancellation Policy

If we receive a written notice of cancellation ON or BEFORE July 9, 2010 (Friday), your registration fee will be refunded less a PhP 150.00 processing fee.  NO cancellations or requests for refunds will be accepted after July 9, 2010 (Friday).  Refunds will be processed after July 26, 2010.

The SLMC-Emergency Medicine Service reserves the right to cancel any main conference or pre-conference course if sufficient registrations are not received.  If the cancellation is initiated by SLMC-EMS, a full refund will be provided to the concerned registrants.
